Entry #10 - Biking around the city

The best way to spend Sunday morning in São Paulo!!

At 6 reais an hour (3 US dollars), we got to rent bikes to ride all around the city. Every Sunday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m, the city closes one lane specially for bikes. I was surprised by how organized everything was. Plus, the weather was terrific!

Three Americans and a Venezuelan biking in Brazil

My rented bike
We spent a little over 3 hours biking, which was definitely a good workout. Though, we stopped a couple times to take pictures, go to the market in Avenida Paulista and get some ice cream and churros, which was also fun and delicious (I got a churro with doce de leite).

Waiting for the green light
The only thing that bothered us was the fact that there were so many stops so it was hard to stay with the rest of the group. On the plus side, every time you stopped at a red light, you could rest for a bit.

Under the bridge. The Brazilian flag is faraway.
I recommend this 100%. Definitely the best way to spend Sunday morning!!

This building looks like the Park Plaza in Boston
